Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone Colorado Attractions - Area Information
 Elevation: The mountain towns elevations are between 8,500 in Silverthorne to approximately 10,000 feet in Alma. The mountain range peaks are from 12,000 to over 14,000 feet. There are three 14,000 foot mountains in Park County that can be hiked in one day: Mt Lincoln, Mt Democrat and Mt Bross. The Continental Divide separates Summit and Park Counties with a spectacular drive over Hoosier Pass.
Climate: Summit and Park County's have over 300 days of sunshine each year. The summer daytime temperatures average from the mid-60s to the mid-70s. There is usually a 2 week period in late July to early August where the temp will be at a high of low to mid 80's. The winter temperature averages around 20 degrees. The average annual snowfall is over 250 inches.
Population: There are approximately 27,000 year-round residents in Summit County. Many of the local residents live in Park County and commute to Summit County for their jobs. There are approximately 17,000 full time residents in Park County.
Churches: There are many different congregations of various denominations that meet regularly throughout both counties.

Winter:
There are four ski and snowboard areas located in Summit County. Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Keystone has night skiing and Arapahoe Basin generally stays open through June. There are miles of cross-country ski trails and 2 Nordic Centers 2 located in Breckenridge and 1 in Frisco. There are many old mining roads for snowshoeing. Horse-drawn sleigh rides with dinner. Ice skating and hockey on 2 rinks located in Breckenridge and 1 outdoor pond rink in Keystone. Uller Fest is a celebration honoring the God of Snow with parades and festivites.
Summer:
There are many tennis courts throughout the county. The Breckenridge Rec Center has indoor and outdoor courts and the town park has public courts. There are many miles of paved bicycle paths that run from Breckenridge to Glenwood Springs. There are miles of backcountry mountain trails in both Summit and Park Counties that were old mining roads. These are great for Mountain Biking, Hiking, Dirt Biking and Jeeping. Kayaking and Whitewater Rafting Rock-climbing and Ice climbing are also all popular in our areas. Many people enjoy golf on a range of courses that are offered in Breckenridge, Copper and Keystone. Breckenridge is a public Jack Nicolus Course. The Dillon Lake provides all sorts of boating from motor, sail kyaks and canoes.
Arts, Culture and Festivites:
Lots of culture in our areas including The Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, The Silverthorne Pavilion, National Repertory Orchestra, Breckenridge Music Institute and Festival, Breckenridge Film Festival, Backstage Theater, Wine Jazz and Art Festivals and the Dillon Amphitheatre. Park City in Fairplay an Annual Gold Rush, Burro Race in Fairplay, many Art Galleries and Historic Museums. Breckenridge and Frisco host July 4th celebrations with parades and fireworks every year.
Restaurants & Entertainment:
There are more than 100 restaurants, bars, places for après ski and nightclubs. 2 Movie theaters one in Breckenridge and one in Dillon. Lots of outdoor concerts and plays with many music festivals. Octoberfest and other food festivals too. Street entertainment.
Children's Activities:
Keystone Science school, lighting of Breckenridge at Christmas. There are ski and snowboard schools at all of the 4 resorts. Kids' Adventure Zones in summertime at the gondoal in town and an alpine slide for on-mountain activities. There are year-round children's programs throught the rec center and daycare centers in Breckenridge and Silverthorne and may parks and playgrounds in the county. The children's museum is a learning center for kids that adds to the daycare experience.
Hiking:
There are many hikes in Summit and Park Counties. The Summit Hiker describes all of them. Just a few are the Mohawk Lakes, Peaks Trail, Colorado Trail, North Ten Mile Trail and Quandry Peak. Park County has many wonderful hikes that take you to mountain lakes and lots of wildflower viewing places.
Transportation:
There is free public transportation throughout all of Summit County with the Summit Stage. Bus service is available to most ski areas, shopping centers, medical centers and some residential areas in Summit County. There is a Free Ride bus service in town Breckenridge as well as a trolly bus that is free in town as well.
